Re: Gift Tax - Cash Gifts to Children

There is no lifetime limit, it’s an annual limit. So effectively they could receive 1.1 million per year times the number of years you want to give to them (a bit lower actually since inheritance tax will likely come into the picture and gifts within certain number of years of inheritance get recla...

I have googled the subject and haven't found much detailed info - maybe that is because the tax agency has left things vague. You can use yen from your regular account to fund an fx time deposit (minimum of 100,000 yen), or simply use existing foreign-currency deposits t...

Re: Opening Brokerage Account - SBI,Monex,Rakuten

They are not supposed to allow you to be a customer if you can't understand Japanese because it means they are unable to fulfill their obligations to inform you of the risks and compliance issues for having an account. I have accounts at all three of these companies and at least two required teleph...

Opening Brokerage Account - SBI,Monex,Rakuten

How difficult is it to open an account with these local online brokers - could someone with zero Japanese language skills navigate the account opening procedures using google translate and other online translation tools? For those that have opened more than one account - is one broker's application ...
