Re: How does NISA count dividends?

Ideco only uses investment trusts, like Tsumitate Nisa. These reinvest dividends internally, so not payout or taxable event. (This is more tax-efficient) A dividend in a regular nisa will be tax free, but flow out of the NIsa into your regular account (less tax-efficient, you "lose" tax-f...

Re: New Nisa - Details on the allowed index funds in the Tsumitate Portion

Dividends are paid out tax free. If you want to re-invest them, you need to use new allowance. This is why it's better to invest in mutual funds that reinvest the dividends internally. Do the "SBI Japan High Dividend Stock Fund" or "UFJ-Nikkei Average High Dividend Fund" reinves...

Re: Is monthly purchase mandatory in tsumitate part of NISA?

On SBI, I managed to cancel/delete my monthly order in eMaxis Slim All Country on Tsumitate NISA for April since it exceeded my target allocations. Does this mean I will receive a notification next month reminding me to make a contribution? No, there is no obligation/expectation to make any NISA pu...

Re: Is monthly purchase mandatory in tsumitate part of NISA?

It is mandatory to have a monthly order. You can set it to 100 yen a month and then buy the rest via the 'bonus' feature. On SBI, I managed to cancel/delete my monthly order in eMaxis Slim All Country on Tsumitate NISA for April since it exceeded my target allocations. Does this mean I will receive...

Re: Credit card tsumitate increase

I believe it will work as I've previously used the same approach. What I opted to do is use the 100k CC in my Growth NISA, while keeping all Regular T.NISA as cash purchases since Growth NISA has more of a wiggle room than Regular T.NISA

Re: Credit card tsumitate increase

SBI/SMBC have not confirmed that they will increase the limit). They have confirmed now, just not when it will be available (or whether it will earn points): https://www.sbigroup.co.jp/news/pr/2024/0308_14475.html SBI: After system maintenance ends on Saturday, March 23, 2024 (midnight of March 24)...

Re: NISA General Questions | SBI

I'm stuck on the step after this one (Step 3. 入力内容の確認) where it asks for a transaction password. Is it not the same password we log into our account with? Or do I need to make a specific password? You can go to your account settings to change your transaction password. There is also an option to re...

Re: Investing in: JAPAN

Very little of the new NISA money has gone into domestic equities. I think I saw a comment that 90% of the equity fund sales have been overseas equity funds. I myself only invest 6% in Japanese equity. The rest of my portfolio is in US stocks (83%), India (0.5%), developed countries (10%), and deve...
