Re: Caution - GMO Bank Aozora - Security Concerns
Sorry to hear of the scam
I was just wondering, do you have any idea how they got your login details? Was there a pwd or a 2factor code involved?

Re: Revolut - Beware
I read about this somewhere. It seems it was the guy's fault for disclosing his account info and also a security code he received, to a telephone caller. I'm not sure the bank/financial entity should be responsible in this case.

Re: Japan pension
I'd be interested in this Class 2, but I think most of us are not eligible (Japan pension). What do you mean? Many Brits on here will receive a Japanese pension and a UK state pension after making voluntary NI contributions. I'd love to receive a UK pension :D (but a few of us here are not Brits!) ...

Re: Japan pension
Class 2 contributions, definitely an expat perk. You are laughing all the way to the bank. I tell all my uni colleagues, and I am just amazed how many of them aren't contributing. I know one guy who has a PhD, two MAs and a family and he still hasn't found out about it, even though I keep on tellin...

I just calculated my future total nenkin from the https://www.nenkin.go.jp/ site. Login to the nenkin website (assuming you have your User ID and password and secret question that you set). Just below your name and number on the top page 利用者情報, click the 2nd from left option, i.e. 将来の年金額を試算する Then c...

Re: What is going on with Interactive Brokers Japan? Any updates?
It has been a year since the last post on this thread.
Anyone else still using IB LLC (the original IB in Japan, before they changed to a yen-based Japan-based broker)?
I understood they would "migrate" my account to the new yen-based Japan IB, but they have not done so, so far.
