Re: MyExpatSIPP thoughts (and general UK/Japan pensions)?
Another large UK Financial Services group told me a few years ago that Brexit complexities were the main reason why the only option now available to their non-UK tax resident clients was 100% payout (of a private pension plan). Who are MES (MyExpatSIPP) competing with to attract clients? MES account...

Fascinating timeline!
What's your take on the "BTC Treasury" idea that the new US administration may launch in 2025?
Lots of chatter that other countries may do something similar.

Must've been a tech glitch.
Got thru on second attempt (18 mins wait) and no issues.

Re: Payment of UK private Pension to Japan perm resident
No, not based on recent correspondence. Like the TfL example I listed, my ex-employer use Convera for expats without a UK bank account.
I will check about Wise or Revolut. Thx.

Payment of UK private Pension to Japan perm resident
Has anyone used https://convera.com/industries/pensions/ (ex-Western Union Business Solutions, I think) to receive a UK private pension in Japan? I asked my provider (I worked for a UK company in UK a long time ago) what the options were for someone without a UK bank account and they mentioned conve...

Re: UK stakeholder pension
Thanks Beanhead and Adamu. That QROPS scheme looks complicated, but I’ll do some more research. :geek: Tempted to leave the pension as it is for now, and take at least 25% as a lump sum at the earliest chance possible (age 57). Guess I'll have to consult an English speaking financial advisor and/or...

Re: UK Pension Gateway Access
There was a time when you could create a Gateway Account and Password. Then, all the old accounts expired and were deleted, or maybe if you hadn't logged in for a long time... This was my status until recently... however, I was able to login again and see my pension info, forecast etc, when my old ...

Mine says I must choose before 70 ( from options such as cash out, lump sum + regular payments etc.) or they will automatically cash all out at 70.ChapInTokyo wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 8:21 am I understand that you can only make contributions to iDeCo until you are 65 but you don’t need to cash it out until you are 75.

Re: Asset allocation before/during Retirement
This is the same message I was given in writing by a leading UK pensions and investment provider.
The only option given was to cash out my DC pension started with them long ago.
I hold a UK passport and have Japanese PR.
