Re: Adopting a Japanese child (non-Japanese parents)

Thanks for the swift reply. I shall check those links and see if it's possible to reach out to those families and ask.

Adopting a Japanese child (non-Japanese parents)

I imagine there is an extremely slim chance that anyone has experience with this, but it's worth a try: My wife and I are both from the UK and have been living in Japan for the past 7 years. We began fostering a Japanese boy in February and recently submitted a petition to adopt him. Our question is...

Re: Are there any Tax Benefits.Used home.

Re-igniting this old post:

Does anyone know of any tax benefits/benefits in general for purchasing an old house with cash (no loan at all).

Thanks in advance

Re: wiring money to Japan from the US

Rather than using a transfer/currency exchange service for this, would it be cheaper to just send the money to a Sony Account (keeping it in the foreign currency), and then "buy" yen with it using the Sony account?

Re: EV cars - worth the price or stick with hybird

[/quote] Meanwhile with the regular Vino, they're so efficient you can easily expect 40-50km/liter real-world fuel economy, it costs about 500yen to fill up, and you'll get around 200km to the tank. So the regular one wins hands down in terms of ease of use. Consider also that the e-version costs a ...

Re: EV cars - worth the price or stick with hybird

This is almost the same topic, so I hope it's OK to put here... Does anyone own an electric moped? I'm looking at for my commute and wondering whether it's worth the initial cost/electric bill increase for charding VS cheap cost of petrol moped/the very cheap petrol refills. Any insight/experiences?

Re: Saving on travel

Camping in the mountains is fairly popular here, but don’t forget about beach camping too. It’s super cheap (or usually free) and these are honestly some of my best memories here in Japan. Getting a few friends together, setting up tents, getting a little beach fire going. You won’t have to pay for...
