We've had one of those Zaboon washer/dryers for about 4 years now, made by Toshiba. We did have one part fail on us, but it wasn't too pricy too replace.
The Kakaku listings (https://kakaku.com/kaden/washing-machine/) are always a good place to start, just filter for ドラム式洗濯乾燥機 on the left.

Ah sorry! This is what I get for reading the most recent replies via RSS, rather than the whole thread in its entirety.

Ideally, some sort of subscription model might be good, in terms of you being able to predict income over time. Wordpress can be used to create a sort of members section, or assign certain content as members only. Content could be very long extensive videos, and keep truncated versions on youtube, o...

Re: Good buys on Mercari? (Or other used marketplaces)
Man, I love Mercari so much. It has more or less replaced Amazon for our family. A few of the more recent buys I've made: a beginner guitar, guitar pedal, Rolling pin international chess board and clock Nikon d40 which I'm super pleased with Kindle Paperwhite gen 5, & case Pie crust weights Xiao...

Re: Renaming RetireJapan
"RetireJapan" is totally fine.
I don't really see any downside to it.
I like the inclusivity of "residents" too. Some folks might fall in the "expat" trap there, but you didn't.

Agreed, this is a great idea. Might also be prudent to add a final message to that locked/old board, linking people to the new board. That is an excellent idea. Thank you!

Re: Kitchen Cabinets / Cupboards
I highly recommend Nobilia Kitchens from Germany. They are not cheap [...] Thanks! I just browsed their site (https://www.nobilia-k.com/) to see how "not cheap" (no prices to be found), so I have to assume it's one of those "If you have to ask how much, you can't afford it" situ...

Kitchen Cabinets / Cupboards
Anyone have any recommendations for buying kitchen cabinets / cupboards? (Don't need sink unit, as we have an island thingy already) Not a huge challenge to find (I have a Lixil catalog here, and will inevitably end up doing the IKEA maze with the wife), but I'm just curious if any of you folks have...

Does anyone use the Didi Taxi app?
Given that Uber and Lyft aren't operating here, I'm curious to hear if any of you are using the Didi taxi app. It's a Chinese company backed by softbank, and their app seems quite good, and integrates with Paypay for payments. It's not available in my area ( https://didimobility.co.jp/service/user/ ...
