Experiences with TradeStation (Monex subsidiary)?
Hi fellow financial responsibiliteers, Does anyone use TradeStation for international investments? If so, do you have any good or bad experiences or information to share? I currently use SBI証券 for my long-term buy-and-hold investments (Vanguard index funds, a couple of low-teen Japanese mutual funds...

Re: Dividend yielding ETFs?
I was wondering the same thing recently and, being a "get the simplest thing possible that fits the bill" type of person, decided on Vanguard's VYM (http://www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/etf/sna ... 0P0000M7NP). Haven't bought any yet but it's on my list.

When you applied to your current job, did you tell them your previous salary?
I'm just curious. I did for mine (got the job via recruiter, who was the one who asked) and regretted it afterwards. I'm in the pipeline for a new job now and am being asked, but this time I'm dodging the question since I want them to make a genuine offer, not just a very slight increase on my curre...

Re: What would you do with ¥7,000,000 at age 67?
How about working out a schedule for how much he will have access to per year, and put the rest in time-deposit accounts? For example, if he decides 500,000 a year is reasonable (giving him 14 years of spending) he could leave 500,000 in his account and put the rest in a 1-year deposit account. The...

Re: Best broker for ETFs or Mutual funds
I use SBI because they're cheap, they offer the Vanguard products that I want to buy, and I snagged the 4,000 yen signup bonus from the campaign they were running through kakaku.com. Their interface is up to the usual Japanese standard  but I haven't had any problems getting money in or buying...

Re: Software for tracking savings and investments
Thanks for that. I had a quick look at both of those, but they seem a bit too focused on "manage your whole budget via this app" than what I'm looking for. I couldn't find the part of the Bloomberg site that allows you to manage your portfolio... However, at least I did finally remember th...

Software for tracking savings and investments
Hi all, What software do you use to keep track of the money you've saved and invested? Just Excel, or is there something that's a bit smarter in terms of tracking exchange rate effects (for overseas ETFs, etc.), purchase and sale commissions, and all that? I'm in the market for the long term, so I'm...
