Is it possible to transfer private UK pension to Japan?
Hi folks I have a small amount of money (less than 10,000 UKP) in a private pension from years ago. I want to liquidate it, but is it actually even possible to transfer it to my Japanese pension (kouseinenkin)? I think I read somewhere that there is no system in place for doing such a thing. I'm gue...

Re: [Expat Will in Japan] Any advice?
@TokyoBoglehead Thanks for the reply.
As far as option #2 goes, are there any well-known good value providers of such a service?
Also if there is no executor, how would the will be executed?
Thanks

What does "standard division" mean? I don't find such a phrase when searching Google. Can you elaborate please, if possible with a source? Thanks.

[Expat Will in Japan] Any advice?
Hi folks As the other part of my previous post on [Expat Will in Birth Country] I'd like to ask for any advice on making a will in this country, to cover my assets in Japan: bank account etc From what I've read so far, a Japanese will is unlikely to have any effect on any assets I have in the UK or ...

Re: [Expat Will in birth country] What to do about executors
Folks Thanks for the replies. A lot of information to think about there. It looks like I have the choice of asking a competent friend and making it clear they would be paid, or a bank or some other agent. I'm married, but I have no children, and all I really need to do it is to make sure my Japanese...

[Expat Will in birth country] What to do about executors
Hi folks Trying to sort out my will, both in my birth country, the UK, and here. I'll be sharing all the info I've found, collecting it on the Retire Wiki. Today's question: What did you do about choosing executors? In the UK, you can get a way with one. Two is often seen as better. But, who did you...

Re: Cheapest way using wise.com to move savings from UK to Japan
Just to update. The money transferred this time. The costs to transfer 500 UKP from my UK account were: 1.89 GBP to convert the money from BGP to JPY (Rate 154.496) To transfer the money from Wise to Post Office should have cost 200 yen, but they kindly paid that. (1st time transaction?) So I appear...
