I don't know any in Western Kanagawa, but I just stopped by to say I can't believe the dog has more chance to find a home than you.

Re: Hello Work
It was changed to 2 months of wait (well, technically 7 days + 2 months) instead of the 3 months wait, as long as you don't use it more than twice within 5 years. From the 3rd time, the wait is 3 months (7 days + 3 months).

Re: Help! Can I delaying my first housing loan payment?
I was able to start my loan payment 2 months after having paid, and moved into, the property, so it should be possible to delay by a month or two. Worth checking with the bank, as they should allow you to choose among several repayment days when you sign the contract. I got to choose between making ...

Re: Assets in UK and Japan writing a will
I was gonna say… I’m definitely not in the Middle East so you must be thinking of somebody else ^^; As for the option C, i was not thinking of it as a gift from a sibling, but more as a repartition of assets based on a will. One gets the cash, the others get the house. That’s IF there is cash as par...

Re: Assets in UK and Japan writing a will
Would this be a viable 3rd option?
c) Get your parents to write in their will that house goes to your siblings, and you get cash equivalent to your share.

Keeping NISA when being posted overseas
Looks like more banks and brokers will be allowing it from now on?

Re: Moving from overseas to retire early in Japan
Nothing more than a personal opinion here (and my retirement plan, until plans change) and what I would (will?) do. I would go with option 2, north of Kyoto City, around Kokusaikaikan. It's green enough, away from the city center and the tourist crowd while still being within the city, and you can s...

Re: Entering semi-retirement - what now?
No real deadline to sign up, and you can choose not to (but if you’re entitled to, why not eh?). The sooner the better but you need a document from your company (forgot the name, it says what was the reason for you leaving and a bunch of other stuff) and that take a week or 2 so you should tell your...

Social insurance potentially being added to financial income
Has anybody been following this topic? The government potentially considering this. This would open Pandora’s box for things like “we only said Nisa was tax free, and social insurance is not a tax” or for company employees having to pay both on salary and financial income like dividends, capital gai...

Re: what is spousal credit?
I still don't get it. Does that mean that my wife, my only heir or beneficiary, will not be taxed on any inheritance she gets from me when I die? Because her statutory share is 100 percent? That seems to contradict everything else I ever read on this matter. If your wife receives an amount which is...
