Buying a house that cannot be rebuilt

I found a property I really like. The size and the location is just right and the price is unusually low. I spoke to the realtor and found out that because of the slope behind the house it is essentially impossible to rebuild. The land isn't in a hazard zone. The house itself is old (built in 1980) ...

Re: Happy New Year! Any resolutions/goals?

This year I managed to get my finances in order and I've got a much better idea of what is going where, how to save, reduce tax etc. My goal for this year is to get a job at a gaishikei software company. Getting a better handle on my finances showed me that the number one thing I need to do is earn ...

Re: Business Manager Visa Catch-22

Are you eligible for the start-up visa? It's only 6 months long but one of the reasons it exists is to avoid this catch 22. The general idea is you then progress on to a business manager visa to run your business at the end of the 6 months.

Investing with uncertainty in residency

Thank you for all the information on the forum and the site. I'm very new to investing so please forgive any blunders. I am a UK citizen in Hiroshima and my plan is to stay in Japan long term, but I do not have permanent residency and I feel that there is a risk I won't be able to stay long term. Ho...
