Re: Renting out a mansion - is it worth it?

Do you have a mortgage and can you keep it? The mortgage is paid off. Your example of a 16% return seems quite good. I had not included capital appreciation in my calculations. If I do so, things improve a bit. I bought this mansion for 13m and it is now worth 18m 15 years later, which would be an ...

Renting out a mansion - is it worth it?

Hi...I've been considering whether to sell or rent out the mansion I own when I buy a new one. I could use more Japanese based rental income to cover the expenses I have to live here. But does the owner usually continue to pay the monthly mansion fees for repair etc? I'm guessing it is probably the ...

Re: Square meters info include balcony?

Re: How to buy a mansion with cash?

Thanks...That's good information. It sounds like going with a legal scrivener is good idea. It is not a term I'm familiar with so I did a google search and came up with "judicial scrivener" (shihoushoshi) and "administrative scrivener" (gyouseishoshi). Would either of these be ap...

Re: How to buy a mansion with cash?

Thanks...Yes, this question is about buying a property here in Japan with cash instead of using a bank nor a realtor.

How to buy a mansion with cash?

Hi...I know the simple answer is give the owner some money and sign some papers with the government for ownership. My main question would be whether I need a realtor or lawyer to help with the process or not. If so, what specifically would I need this person's help with, and what would I need to pay...

Re: Mansions – How to search? Real estate agents? Online resources?

For searching real estate, specifically chuko manshon, I like to start with SUUMO. Just make sure to first set whatever your desired parameters (area, cost range, no. of rooms, floor area, orientation, age, distance from schools & transport, security, etc) to narrow the choice down to a managea...
