Finance movies and documentaries
Hey guys, I just thought I'd make a place where people could put links for movies and full documentaries related to financial matters. The first I have is: I don't have any money left in my retire ment account 老後の資金がありません https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11354164/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 Free on Prime in Japa...

Re: Curious about forum member age demographics
I was always a reasonable saver and got rid of my $30,000 NZD Uni loan after about 2 years in Japan. But after that I focussed on world travel and enjoying myself a bit.I was about 37 when I wanted something to read on the plane to NZ so picked up "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and it blew me away. ...

Re: Rakuten advice (first time Ideco)
Other than the fact that you're overloading on Developed countries (the next big thing might come out of developing countries/China) the Tawara No Load funds are actually pretty good because they have a LONG history (much longer than eMaxis or Rakuten or SBI) so if you're at all concerned about sta...

Re: Rakuten advice (first time Ideco)
As you can rebalance at anytime, I see no reason to be in bonds unless you are close to retiring. Yes, food for thought. Ideally I'd have a taxable account to get some bonds but at the moment I have my hands full with ideco, Nisa and my daughter's Junior Nisa. Funny though, I started out with 30% b...

Re: Rakuten advice (first time Ideco)
Hey there, I know this thread hasn't been active a while now. I'm just about to rebalance my Rakuten ideco account. I have 20% Tawara NoLoad Developed country bonds. The remaining 80% is 40% Rakuten Zensekai Index fund (0.212%) and 40% Tawara No Load Developed countries (0.109%). I realise there is ...

Re: Rebalancing a Tsumitate NISA account
Thanks Ben, makes sense.
I realise I didn't have any bonds in the NISA account.. urgh.. but figured out how to rearrange some stock funds I had.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Rebalancing a Tsumitate NISA account
So basically what you're saying is just to stop buying any more of what I don't want (and leave it in the account) and then use that allocation to buy more/another stock?

Rebalancing a Tsumitate NISA account
Hey there, I am a bit confused with rebalancing in NISA and would really appreciate any advice here. I started up a Rakuten Tsumitate NISA account earlier this year (at 42 years old). I looked to diversify and bought a range of stocks and bonds. I left it for almost a year planning to only check it ...

Re: Dealing with a home loan.
Awesome guys. Thanks for the advice. It really helped to clarify the situation for me. Ideco and NISA sorted (for me and my kid), so extra money can go into NISA and/or emergency funds etc. I forgot to factor in the insurance part of it where if I die the rest of the loan is written off. All of your...
