Re: Payment from Singapore to Japan question
After a delay I am now receiving payments from Singapore to my SHINSEI BANK account. Many thanks for the advice here on this Forum. I then tried to transfer some funds from my SHINSEI BANK account to my WISE account. However, during the online process the WISE bank is not an option even though I sea...

Re: Barclays UK closing expat accounts ?
I posted my concerns here a year ago about Barclays closing my account, and it seems so many of us have been affected. Anyway, one year on and I have a SBIshinsei bank plus Revolut accounts. It's been a tedious process because I have no residential address in UK and have not returned there since pre...

Payment from Singapore to Japan question
Hello. I have undertaken online work for a Singapore institute and they wish to transfer payment to Japan. My question:
1. Can payment in Singapore dollars be deposited to my JP Post Office account? According JP Post website it appears only US and EU deposits are allowed.
Many thanks.
Michael

Employment insurance certificate
Hello. Where can I obtain a replacement of my Employment insurance certificate? The one with the 11-digit number.
I may have been given the certificate years ago but I cannot find it.
Thank you.
Michael

Re: Barclays UK closing expat accounts ?
Hello. I received the same letter today :-( Yes, Barclays is closing our accounts, and I have the same concerns. Rather than starting a new post, I hope you don't mind if I ask similar questions on this thread. When it rains, it pours. So today I received a letter from Barclays Bank UK stating that ...

Retire or resign?
This is definitely a naive query as I am extremely bad at personal finance. I read this Forum with much envy. Anyway, I have ‘sliding doors’ moment and am seeking opinions. If this query is out of scope for this Forum, I apologize in advance. I am a professor of 18 years at a Japanese public univers...
