Re: IDeCo changes December 2024
Does anyone know how to change the amount with SBI? I went through some of the links on their website and it seems that I have to request some documents? Is there no way of doing it online like it seems like you can do with Rakuten?

Re: SBI New NISA Tsumitate
Hi! I was also playing around with the settings on SBI this weekend and was and still am very confused. I read that if you don't do anything, the settings from your previous NISA account will just carry over to the new NISA. However, while I was investing in two different funds in my old account, I ...

Retiring Early and the National Pension
Hi everyone, I have always known that if you worked at least 35 years, you will be eligible for the full basic pension here in Japan. But it wasn't until today that I was calculating my age and realized that if I do retire early, I won't be eligible for the full basic pension here. Just wanted to kn...

Re: NISA accounts opened in 2023 will rollover into New NISA in 2024?
Sorry to barge in on the conversation, but I was wondering if SBI will also be opening a new NISA account if I am using them for my tsumitate NISA right now?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Wills - Which Countries Defer to Japan?
Well I have assets in the UK, I guess it is time to write my Japanese will then. I hear it is important that both wills match exactly to avoid problems down the line. I don't have anything in the UK other than a couple of hundred quid in NatWest, so I don't have an up to date UK will. My situation ...
Re: FIRE Blog
I've tried the above links, and seem to only get an initial splash page--no clue how to navigate to anything else from there. I've tried hovering the cursor over most everything, and nada. The last/final link just above, gets me to a page-not-found page... Just scroll down and you’ll see posts. Tha...

Re: EV cars - worth the price or stick with hybird
I would seriously consider buying the ID Buzz if it was available in Japan. Great design and utility, it ticks a lot of boxes for me. There are two wheelbase lengths apparently, the longer one accommodates three rows of seats while the shorter one sacrifiices the third row. If you want to sleep in ...

Re: EV cars - worth the price or stick with hybird
I heard though that the installation of home chargers have gone up due to lack of supplies. Nissan said they would cover the home charger installation, up to ¥200,000 I think. Ohh didn't know that . Will have to double check with the dealers. Nissan (home charger) AND government (the car itself) su...
