Re: iDeco & Company DC Plan coexistence
In the end I have decided to go for the option to join the company's DC but with only company contributions, with a generous 28,000 yen / month. It is a matching DC but you can decide not to match the company's contribution. That way I can continue to contribute to SBI´s iDeCo, but lowering my curre...

Re: iDeco & Company DC Plan coexistence
I think I will join the Company DC and then call SBI to stop my contributions for as long as I contribute to my Company DC. Then, it would be easier when I leave the company to resume iDeCo contributions calling SBI again I guess. Sounds good to me, but beanhead made a good point that you didn't ac...

Re: iDeco & Company DC Plan coexistence
One thing I had not considered is the double management fee, one for iDeCo, that could be evaded by having just a DC plan but as ivanpgs says the fund costs may be higher in the DC and outweigh it. About the double management fee, I think that the Company DC provider monthly fee is paid by the empl...

Re: iDeco & Company DC Plan coexistence
Hi TunaSki, Thanks for your comment. I keep on learning new options here! It sounds like You have a matching type Company DC. Which just to correct you, your employer is not matching what you pay, your employer dictates how much they pay, and then you can opt to match up to that amount, as long as t...

Re: iDeco & Company DC Plan coexistence
Thanks sutebayashi for talking about your experience with the tandem iDeCo + Company DC. It actually helps a lot, because it is most probably what I will end up doing now. About Fidelity link, which topic is about iDeco and Company DCs and its complications when having both (very interesting article...

iDeco & Company DC Plan coexistence
Hi guys, I have just changed jobs and my new company is offering a Defined Contribution Plan (Company DC) with company matching your contributions (I guess that tops up at the maximum of 55K yen - 27.5K company + 27.5K employee). The nice thing is that employer's and employee contributions are deduc...

Re: Rakuten CC tsumitate is now 100,000 yen a month
I guess Rakuten Cash still is 1% (0.5% when charging the cash and 0.5% when buying the tsumitate), unless they have downgraded that part now. That was only a temporary 5 month campaign until the end of 2022. Since 2023 for Cash it's been 0.5% for charging only, nothing for Tsumitate. Thanks Adamu, ...

Re: Rakuten CC tsumitate is now 100,000 yen a month
I guess the 50K cash + 50K card tuple still is good for those having the normal Rakuten Card (not platinum or gold), which has 0.5% back in points. I guess Rakuten Cash still is 1% (0.5% when charging the cash and 0.5% when buying the tsumitate), unless they have downgraded that part now. I am actua...

Re: “NISA tax free limit exceeded” why?!
It seems you have a similar case to what I did have. I missed a 66,667 yen contribution in January and as I had already setup monthly contributions of 50K and 50K for both Cash and Card, I was unable to add an extra contribution using Bank. It turned up that you can temporarily reduce one of your mo...
