Re: Confusion about PMAC (Shigaku Kyosai) and DC
Got the docs from Rakuten and sent them back for checking (1-2month wait :? ) I'm wondering when the limit goes up to 20,000, if we'll have to submit these forms and wait all over again to adjust the amount withdrawn from our bank account each month (or withheld by employer for whoever is able to do...

Re: Rakuten new tsumitate nisa setup date
Didn’t realize the Rakuten card and Rakuten cash payment methods had to be reserved before January -_- was confused that it said if I were to set it up now, the first purchase would be done in March. Reading up on the other posts, the bonus tsumitate method seems too much of a hassle (bad at math) W...

All of you are awesome, thank you so much for the information! Applying for an account through Rakuten! Hoping my workplace can do the withholding option!

Re: Confusion about PMAC (Shigaku Kyosai) and DC
I definitely don't get to select any funds! Looks like the PMAC pension is just the mandatory one that replaces (but is bigger contributions than?) the Public Pension.
Thanks for the insight!

Confusion about PMAC (Shigaku Kyosai) and DC
Hey Everyone, With the new year comes renewed vigour to save money after some crazy overspending 8-) I am finally looking to dive into iDeco, but I'm a bit confused by the eligibility. I've asked my employer about this a few times but it seems they're just as lost as I am. When going through the eli...

IBLLC capital gains taxes?
Hello all, I recently was required to transfer my Interactive Brokers account internally to one that has Japan as my place of residence. I am a bit lost on how capital gains tax works with an IBLLC account here. For reference, I’m a Canadian expat with non permanent resident status. If I hold on to ...

Re: Transfering money from Japan to Interactive Brokers LLC
Just wanted to say thanks for the help and info in this thread. I was able to set it all up with SMBC Direct and the transfer price seems to still 800 yen if done online.

I see... I have a MUFG account and it seems you can only do that in branch too? I'm too exhausted to go and open yet another account with Sumitomo just to do this

Re: Transfering money from Japan to Interactive Brokers LLC
Sorry to revive an old topic, but I am trying to set this very thing up. With SMBC Prestia, I am trying to register a payee using the account number IBLLC provides: 0159170403 with the 403 removed. It does not let me proceed saying that the account number is not valid. The SMBC phone line wasn't too...
