Re: How to sell specific "OLD NISA" year on Rakuten
That’s unfortunate. Monex has a 保有残高 view that shows how much of what is held per old NISA year (for anyone using Monex and didn’t know).

Re: Will Trump’s tariffs push USD even higher?
“ Since boosting the US economy will create inflationary pressure, ”
I don’t think that is necessarily the case, although that is the common model of thinking I suppose.

Re: SBI Tsumitate NISA Bonus rule change
Capital gains should be higher to prevent rich people from making money hand over fist. My view is that a simple system that no one has to study or ask questions about in order to understand, would be a net win for the vast majority of people in terms of time saved and made available for other purp...

Re: Yen keeps going from strength to strength!
Here is the effect of Trump's policy proposals.. I see! Not sure how you think the US is going anywhere near a balanced budget. I’m not at all sure that it is, but I rate their chances better than I do Japan’s. At a minimum I expect US annual spending will be reduced in 2 years times. I know little...

Re: SBI Tsumitate NISA Bonus rule change
They should have made the tsumitate part a monthly allowance rather than an annual one perhaps.
(Or they should just have a lower capital gains tax rate and be done with NiSA altogether!)

Re: Yen keeps going from strength to strength!
The local fiscal situation is a decent part of my pessimism, but I still see monetary policy as super loose (balance sheet) and they claim to want to stable inflation of 2% (as opposed to stable prices = stable currency) although they have been exceeding that inflation target; the trade deficit thes...

Re: Yen keeps going from strength to strength!
As a carry trader type, let me confirm that MOF intervention and a few pop-gun grade rate hikes by the BOJ won’t bother me. For me to change my view I’d need to see a pretty much 180 degree reversal in the direction of fiscal policy here, or a change in monetary policy back to the old approach. Give...

Oh I sold mine already. If I were ever to buy crypto assets again I can only imagine doing so similarly in a speculative fashion.

Double checking now I see cocoa beans have been up 600% this year, so BTC is still left in the dust!

Re: Cryptocurrencies
I assumed Trump went positive on crypto to broaden his potential camp of voters - political expedience? And I read he has some business interest in it now too. I still watch cocoa and coffee prices more closely… but good fortune to anyone dabbling in crypto! I don’t see a lot of real world usage pot...
