Re: Using Rakuten Points to invest in Rakuten Securities?
I am really curious/eager to learn about investing and am unable to do any in the UK, so I'll take a good look over all the 投資信託 info on their pages and see what the minimum point investment can be. What we're saying is don't do point investing. Just pay off your CC with the points, and invest with...

Re: Using Rakuten Points to invest in Rakuten Securities?
Thanks for the advice here everyone! :) I'm new to Rakuten so I'm still learning about what I can and can't do with the different kinds of points you get. Didn't know some could be used to pay off CC, for example. I am really curious/eager to learn about investing and am unable to do any in the UK, ...

Sorry if this topic has already come up before but I couldn't find any other post on it. It's something I've long loved about Japan, that small coins can go into the ATM. You can't do it via ATM in the UK, you h...

Re: UK State Pension newbie
Depending on your age, you may be able to get to the 35 years anyway, without making full payments of those 11 years. It may cost you a few quid extra to pay in at current / future rates than that rate of £3.05 per week. The difference will be minimal, in the grand scheme of things. I think the ris...

Re: UK State Pension newbie
Thanks to this helpful forum I also just got accepted to make class 2 contributions! :D The letter from DWP lists the 11 backpay years I can pay for. All at class 2 rate @£3.05 a week It gives two dates, one is 'payment date without penalty' and the other is 'final time limit.' I'm just curious if a...
