Re: UK Non-resident Landlord self-assessment

How many years do you need to have lived in the UK to qualify for voluntary contributions? Should I just apply and see what happens?

Re: UK Non-resident Landlord self-assessment

So the conclusion is that my wife should be doing it. Seriously, if your Japanese spouse has lived in the UK and has a National insurance number, they also have a personal allowance? Also, going off topic here, but would they also be able to make voluntary contributions on her state pension? I just...

UK Non-resident Landlord self-assessment

Hi UK Non-resident Landlord, How are you doing your self~assessment? Do you use third-party software or submit a hard copy? I only have one property and looks pretty simple so I was thinking to submit it a hard copy. Alternatively, if you a third-party software user, I would like to know what softwa...

Rakuten trading account / 楽天証券 is locked

I got this message telling me my account is locked. 口座がロックされてしまいました.

I can't work out the reason why it is locked from the website. Do I have to call them or has anyone found another way to unlock their account?

Many thanks

2017 Nisa action?

I have a regular Nisa account from 2017 which will be ending the NISA wrapper at the end of the year. I am not planning to roll it over as I already plan to use my NISA location for a TsumitateNISA account. I was wondering what happens to the Mutual funds if I do nothing? Will they just lose their t...

iDeCo withdrawal taxing

Although 20 years away for me, I was wondering how profits will be taxed when you withdraw from your IDeCo. On the deco site https://www.ideco-koushiki.jp/english/# It say investment returns are tax free. However, it also says: "If you take your benefits in the form of an annuity, you are eligi...

Re: Small Enterprise Mutual Aid Plan (小規模企業共済)

Just had a look back and it is the 倒産防止共済 (Bankruptcy prevention Kyosai) which you can borrow against.
