Tkydon, could you explain why this is relevant? Does tax exposure in Japan affect transfers?

Re: Dehumidifiers
I use one made by the company Corona. If you are going to be gone, you can just put it on your kitchen counter and have the drain hose run into the sink.

I got a lifetime deal on Getflix and it has worked well so far. It has PC level and router level settings.
For mobile I use Proton's free version which so far has been plenty fast.
AppSumo may have some attractive discounts.

Value of money over time
I know people here will get a kick out of this story. My acupuncturist inherited his father's estate last year. While going through all the important papers, he discovered a letter stating that a part of one of his fields had a collateral obligation on it against a loan of 28 yen, from the Meiji era...

Re: Purchasing property to rent out; research to find target market
I know the areas quite well, and with a walk-through I think I could identify potential properties and then research them at the town hall. A major key to quick ROI is not going through a realtor, so while realty information would be helpful you're right that it would have to be paid and not tied to...

Friend is able to help but I think he also realized that he'd be training his competition. So I have to do as much legwork as I can.

Purchasing property to rent out; research to find target market
I have a friend who runs a couple share houses and is still bullish on the market, and he's convinced me to consider being a landlord. Each share house has to have its own target market--male, female, hikikomori, etc. What I'm running up against is how to determine the state of each target demograph...

Wow, thanks for this! It turns out that I am eligible for shoubyou teate, which I wouldn't have looked into further without your information. I had misunderstood a few things about it. I had to start the process while still employed, and got in just under the wire. Thanks again.

Thanks everyone for the replies and kind words.
Kuma, when you say check with my insurer, what exactly are you referring to? I don't pay extra for supplemental health insurance but of course I have access to any number of clinics, mental clinics, and large hospitals in my area.

I spoke with a lawyer and with the labor standards office in July, and the lawyer said that I did not have a case. Nothing material has changed between then and now. I forgot to mention that mine is a mid-sized company, so the new power harassment law does not apply to it for another two years. Alth...
