Re: Any Japan issued card with 1.25% or higher cashback?

epos gold is similar. 10000 points for annual 1M spending with 0.5% general cashback. although to get it without having to pay yearly fee ("invitation") you have to first obtain and use their normal card for certain period and amount.

Re: Using MS Copilot for date format conversion

if the column is in date type, the display format doesn't matter an iota for doing vlookup https://s.kohaku.love/2025/01/soffice.bin_2025-01-27_01-41-39.png if it's not in date type, convert it using "data → convert text to columns" option (as long it's in common date format, otherwise a d...

Re: Current Rakuten Securities - RCash - RCard (gold?) situation.

Also remember that rakuten may change the point rewards at their convenience...

If the point difference compared to regular card ever dip below 0.19% it means the gold card costs actual money to keep.

Re: Strategy for the 2025 NISA

I suppose if you have emergency savings and can live without it for a few days, can just buy nisa and sell taxable at the same time... that should minimize the risk of market movement during the swap. (I myself don't care enough and probably will just sell, wait, pray, and buy the whole growth alloc...

some banks nowadays (sbi net, paypay, and probably others) support atm usage just by scanning qr code from their app ;) (also known as "スマホATM")

you can still charge it using the ticket machines at the station or atm/konbini - the ones which you put on your card/phone/watch instead of inserting it

Re: Competing for a property with multiple buyers

I got offered a place with discounted rate but when starting the application the agent said someone "bid" the place a bit higher and offered me if I wanted to match it since I came first :? It went through in the end (signing the contract soon) but I have no idea if it's actual bid or they...

Re: Credit card tsumitate increase

I suspect the card too. The securities account should really have your name correct; the card, i don’t have that confidence in. in my case it's actually securities that needed update. When registering I managed to convince them to use the actual order (passport order) instead of the wrong zairyu ca...
