Re: Selling my shares in a KK
Not sure whether your articles of incorporation or so say anything about that. This. Check the articles of incorporation. It's not uncommon for an unlisted company to have a clause that says any sale of shares is subject to approval by the other shareholders or the board of directors. Thanks. I may...

Re: Selling my shares in a KK
KK, you can generally sell your shares as you like. Not sure whether your articles of incorporation or so say anything about that. With a 33% minority share, the buyer would in that constellation most likely only be able to receive dividends but cannot take part in the business or become a director...

Selling my shares in a KK
Hello Everyone, I own 33.3 shares in a popular Bar/Restaurant in Osaka. My two partners are Japanese who own 33.3 each as well. A fellow expat would like to buy my shares at a price we both think is fair. One of my partners is opposed to him as a new partner seen as they do not share the same vision...

Re: Cashing out my shares of a restaurant.
The short answer is that a business is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. So the best option might be to sit down with your partners and figure out how much you think the business is worth, and then have them pay you that amount, either as a lump sum or in installments after you leave. Th...

Cashing out my shares of a restaurant.
Hi, Two Japanese partners and I opened up a successful Italian restaurant 9 years ago. We equally own 33.3% of the business. I am planning on leaving Japan in the next 2-3 years. My question is how do I evaluate my share of the company? Is it just as simple as taking a 1/3 of the savings? Or does re...

Re: Forgot to rollover NISA…
Ok. Thanks for the reply. Full disclosure I am planning on leaving Japan in 3 years and move to Canada... Would it be better to cash out the money and re invest it into a NISA account? Surely investing for 3 years would be better than not investing at all. Or close the account and invest in an inter...

Forgot to rollover NISA…
Happy New Year Everyone, Logged into my NISA account today for the first times in ages. Discovered to my unpleasant surprise that my first NISA 2018 account had reached its 5 year limit, and all the capital gains I made seems to be gone.I know I should have rolled it I’ve but…life got in the way.
