It’s finally here
Yesterday we finally got the RetireJapan Guide to NISA properly formatted. We sent a copy to everyone who was kind enough to buy the beta version (anyone who buys a RetireJapan Guide will get free updates whenever we publish a new edition), and we will be ending the special sale price of 1,000 yen at the end of this month.
From June the price of the guide will be 2,000 yen, so if you are interested please grab it while it is cheap.
The next guide is likely to be about mortgages. It’s going to require a fair amount of research though, so we don’t have a release date yet. Otanoshimi!
Great, I just bought this.
I got your Ideco one just after I’d set that one up, so this one will be what guides me through my Nisa application, thank you!
Thank you very much! Good luck with the application, it’s a lot simpler than the iDeCo one 🙂
Hi there, would you recommend contributing to the various Japanese retirement options for people over 40 years old?
Yes, certainly. The details will depend on your circumstances, but it’s never too late to make a plan and take action 🙂

A friend asked about the difference between
iDeco and NISA and I’m afraud I didn’t / couldn’t explain it very well. Is there an upper age limit for starting? For example could you start paying in at 70 and start collecting at 80? TIA
You can pay into iDeCo until 60. NISA had no age limits. Check out the pages on the RetireJapan site for more info 🙂
