Weirdly warm weather

Pretty sure it’s not supposed to be 20-some degrees in mid-November, but I’m not complaining!

The forum was pretty active this week too. Click on the image to go straight there ^-^

  1. No. 6 ! What an intelligent person. I wish I had known about him from before. Thanks for sharing.

  2. “…20-some degrees in mid-November, …”

    Bugs. That’s what that means…! 😉

(tho kamemushi seem to be hiding, probably lying in wait somewhere)

  3. On #8 – we were fortunate enough to be “stuck” in Kyoto for 10 weeks from March 17 to June 1. The Cherry blossoms were delightful without all the tourists. We went to several “famous” locations and had the grounds almost to ourselves. My son said it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to not be tripping over 100’s of foreign tourists everywhere.
Not being able to get back over for the holidays to help with childcare is creating issues for the family there – my son will likely have to furlough or quit his job to care for the granddaughter.

  4. #4 – there are so many different investing strategies. This was interesting so see. While no fee rebalancing helps this idea, its seems like no fee is also fueling more trading vs buy and hold purchases. Robinhood is contributing to this trading mentality as they make money by selling the trades that its users place and thus they encourage users to trade more frequently. Understanding ones own risk tolerance is really important before embarking on any investing strategy. I guess you could say that’s probably important for just general decision making as well.

  5. In #4 it discusses bid-ask spreads, how they used to be an 1/8th of a dollar, and so on.

I bought a few things in september, all three are detailed to four decimal places, very small fractions of a cent (penny):
    $xx.4926
    $xxx.4715
    $xxx.5962
So in some cases, hundredths of a cent.
