Yet Another Unexpected Event Edition
Aaand once again my life is flipped-turned upside down.
Instead of retiring it seems I’ll be going back to full-time work next month, working for a boss I can’t get away from (they live with me) as an eikaiwa teacher with a full schedule.
I’m going to be quite a lot busier than I have been in the last few years, but I will do my best to keep the site going and keep developing our offerings.
Don’t imagine I’ll be taking that trip to Europe in May either.

#4 – plain text files. Once when I had trouble opening some 90s-era files (old Mac/Claris formats), I discovered that OpenOffice–now LibreOffice–would work. (so if you ever need a ‘can opener’…)
I just switched to LibreOffice. Seems like a decent solution.
Thanks for the link to the list of Ukraine charities. It was, though, a bit bewildering for me due to the number and diversity of the charities listed.
I wonder if anyone has a single good suggestion of a reliable charity to which someone living Japan could easily make a donation?
I think the easiest way for people in Japan is to make a simple furikomi to the embassy of Ukraine in Japan. You can find the account number in their twitter: https://twitter.com/ukrinjpn/status/1497100158693416961?s=21
Also Rakuten has set up a humanitarian fund for Ukraine: https://corp.rakuten.co.jp/donation/ukraine202202_ja/ukraine202202_ja.html
Thank you for supporting Unraine 🙏
Many Thanks.
Congratulations on the new job. I hope your boss goes easy on you! 😜
Thanks. She’s already given me the lowest salary in the school…
