I’m not completely sure, to be honest 🙂
I think I first came across him through Tynan, who is another person whose writing I find really inspiring.
And I found Tynan through Neill Strauss’ The Game (probably his most famous book, although I enjoyed Emergency much more).
Anyway, Sebastian Marshall used to write this really incredible weekly email called The Strategic Review. It was a mixture of history, entrepreneurship, self-improvement, and inspiration.
I find it intimidatingly well-written.
Every so often he edits his writing together into a book. I’ve read a few of them, but I really enjoyed Roguelike. His latest two, Progression and Machina, are collections of TSR writing.
The Strategic Review seemed to go offline in 2022, but if you are even remotely interested in self-improvement, entrepreneurship, history, or thinking in general I really recommend take a look at Sebastian’s writing.
