Saturday in Gifu, Sunday in Nagoya

I’m really excited about giving two RetireJapan workshops in Nagoya and Gifu this weekend.

The respective JALT chapters have very kindly invited me to come and run workshops on personal finance in Japan. Details below:

Gifu JALT 19:00~ (Saturday 24th October) click here for details

Nagoya JALT 13:30~ (Sunday 25th October) click here for details

I’ll be talking about the basics of personal finance, basics of investing, and investing in Japan. Hope to see you there!

    1. Hi Bruce
I’m definitely planning to continue giving workshops and sharing information online, so there is a decent chance I will be back in Nagoya at some point.
I am planning to attend the JALT conference next year, so will try to put together a workshop either as part of the conference or alongside it.
I’ll be more careful about the timing of the emails going out automatically to the list, too. Right now they are set to go out just once a week to minimize the annoyance factor, but that means that sometimes there is a gap of up to six days between posting on the blog and the email going out.
      cheers

    2. Hi there,
We would be very interested at the Kitakyushu JALT chapter to hear your lecture about investing in Japan.

  1. Hi Ben,
I got the email about these workshops several days after attending the one in Gifu 😉 I hope Nagoya went well, too.
Great workshop thanks – very informative and a good reinforcer for a lot of information.
I found the 1550 Maxis fund that you mentioned, thanks. Then I found an equivalent i-shares version. Thanks for opening up my eyes to those options.
    Keep up the great work!
    Cheers,
    Brian

    1. Hi Brian
I know! I saw the automatic email go out on Monday and though ‘ooooh, people will either be annoyed that they didn’t know about it or amused’ Thankfully you’re in the latter camp 🙂
Thanks for the kind words, it was a great experience.
