Which I agree with

Michael Hyatt, who has a great blog, wrote about retirement recently. Here’s his main point:

In fact, the more I think about the purpose and meaning of work, the more I’m convinced that nothing destroys our sense of purpose and health more than the modern notion of retirement. It’s detrimental to us individually and collectively.


Surprisingly, I completely agree with him. I couldn’t imagine not working any more.


“Hmm”, you might think, “so what’s all this Retire Japan stuff about, then?”


Simple. To me, the reason I am saving and investing for the future is so that I don’t have to worry about money. I won’t have to do work I don’t enjoy just to get a paycheck, and I will be free to work as much or as little as I choose.
